What is SARI?

It is a long cloth of light silk worn by men and women in India, wrapped around the waist with one end passed over the shoulder. This naturally shiny silk comes from the cocoons of the bombix, better known as the silk butterfly. The Sari are identified as symbols of national pride, of traditional and avant-garde crafts; thus, India represents one of the last great craft cultures.
